The TBD620 series diesel engines are designed by DEUTZ CO., In order to improve the power and credibility, decline the cost of the TBD620 series diesel engines which were easier to maintain, we need to carry on a great deal of improvement. During the improvement and optimization, in order to confirm the influence on the diesel engine performance through the parameter varieties while decline the experimental cost, demand for design the TBD620 single cylinder diesel engine, optimize parameters by experiment and finally improve the engine.In this dissertation, the whloe of the engine was designed. The design of TBD620 single cylinder diesel engine was based on TBD620V16 to confirm the coherece of the primary parts. The cooling system, lubricating system, valve system, gear training, fuel supply system, engine block, crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and cylinder covers were carefully designed to achieve the design parameters.In addition, calculate the operating process using AVL-BOOST and analyze the performance. Meawile analyze to pressure ratio, fual injection advance jungle and cam timing to the influence on the performance, and then put forward suggestions of the improvement toward these parameters. Finally calculate performance of part conditions of the whole engine.Besides, calculate the intensity of the connecting rods using ANSYS. The fatigue intensity is considered to check changes.and compare the results of the traditional calculate to prove the former way is right. Analyze the safe coefficient.calculate the intensity of the crankshaft using ANSYS. And mainly calculate the crankshaft intensity, analyze the safe coefficient. Build the model with Pro/E and calculate the thermal analyse of the piston using ANSYS. Through analyse of the infinite element, we get the complexion of thermal distributing and the density of heat of this piston in the engine. These can provide theoretic evidence to improve this piston of the engine.
