There are two fashion of the mooring system for floating platform: dynamic position and conventional catenary mooring.The catenary mooring system is a very important construction part of the floating platform mooring system.But the segment of the catenary mooring system used to betake the steels, which make it difficult to be used for deep water. With the development of multi-component mooring systems, such as the using of the synthetic fiber , the Deep water eatenary mooring system design has to select the combination of the segments. The catenary mooring is still widely used in deep water.The dissertation focuses on the mooring system design fields for deep water semisubmersibles platform, particularly for those mooring system composed by multi-component mooring lines. Fist of all the entire dissertation deduced catenary multi-component equations and stiffness matrix of each line combined with multi-segments. It also studied equations and approximate method for elastic lines. And a finite method has also been used to calculate mooring line dynamics in time domain. Through comparative study of single component and multi-component mooring line is also executed. The analysis is proved to be a method with high efficiency.
