Catenary anchor leg mooring system is moored in a special sea area by several scattering catenary anchor legs to transport crude oil where it is lack of natural deep-water channel and large oil tankers berths. It has been widely used around the world due to its simple structure, low cost, and the characteristic of the recyclable. The Chinese mainland has already built the two catenary anchor mooring systems in the Maoming and the Weizhou of Beibu Gulf, and the CALM system has a wide range of potential applications in China, along with the development trend of large-size international oil transport ships all over the world and the challenge of the lack of natural deep-water channel and large oil tankers berths.Single-point mooring system analysis technology and flexible riser global design and analysis methods were collated, and the main emphasis of this research were the structure form, load characteristic and the failure modes of the single-point mooring system.The global design and analysis method and the flow of flexible riser were proposed. The possibility of the application of catenary method in the preliminary design of flexible risers was explored, and the theoretical models and numerical method of coupled analysis of mooring system and riser system were analysed. Finally, the established global design and analysis method of flexible riser system were applied in the flexible riser system design and coupled analysis of a CALM system in shallow water, and a proper global layout of riser system was gained.The work of this dissertation is conducive to master the global design and analysis of flexible riser and the single-point mooring system for our country, and it has important engineering reference value of promoting the use of single-point mooring system in China.This research of the dissertation is sponsored by Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China(863Program.2012AA090314).
