Abstract/Summary:
With the wider application of cold formed 60 angles steel in the tower structure, the stability study of cold formed steel will be growing protruding. In this paper studied the buckling behavior of hinged at both ends and single connection axial compression of cold-formed 60°equilateral angle. The main contents of this paper is divided into the below parts:(1) The fundamental principles of nonlinear buckling analysis of cold-formed 60°equilateral angle steel compression members are discussed in detail . The constitutive relationship, failure criterion, element type and parameters used in ANSYS are expounded also .(2) Description and analysis the stability theory, and describes the design approach of cold-formed single angles in design code (GB50018-2002).(3) Used the experimental results of axial compression of cold-formed 60°equilateral angle steel compared with the results of the ANSYS finite element method.(4) On the basis of considering residual stress and initial eccentricity, the ANSYS finite element model using shell element of cold-formed 60°equilateral single angle compression members is established, and the nonlinear buckling analysis of cold-formed 60°equilateral single angle steel compression members are proceeded, come to the ultimate carrying capacity of stability.(5) The two results of ANSYS and design code (GB50018-2002) will be compared and analysis. On the basis of comparison results fitting and amendments the stability factor and the strength reduction coefficient of cold-formed 60°equilateral angle steel in design code (GB50018-2002). In the final get close to the actual results and recommendations.
