With the rapid development of automotive industry, plastic components are used widely in the car. More and more decorative parts, engine parts, structure parts, and even the body of automobile have started the application of plastic materials. But the design situation, particularly the domestic situation, is not optimistic, we do not have the capacity to design some of key components, which hampers the application of plastic automobile components in our country. So it has become an important direction of auto industry development to research the theory and technology about plastic automobile components design. Just against the issue, this paper mainly researches the technology and method of it.Currently, the low level of design on plastic products in our country, mainly reflects as inadequate consideration of manufacturing factor, and difficulties to implement the design. This thesis introduces the concurrent engineering theory to injection products design, which hopes to achieve the concurrent design through the manufacturability analysis in the design process.Manufacturability analysis on injection products has its own characteristics, and traditional analysis based on characteristics is not fully applicable, so this paper puts forward the concept of structural elements, and formed the technology of manufacturability analysis based on it. Furthermore, according the needs of injection products manufacturing evaluation, the thesis develops a manufacturability analysis strategy which works both for the local and for the overall of products. The analysis for local can run paralleled with the design, and overall analysis ensures the optimum of the whole. Meanwhile, with the characteristics of the corresponding relationship between the structural design and injected plastic products quality, the thesis establishes the principles which the manufacturability evaluation based on for injected plastic products design, then forms a system of parallel design eventually.Finally, the thesis has a basic development with the manufacturing evaluation module in the platform of Pro/Engineer Wildfire2.0, which, combined with the design module of the platform, eventually achieved the parallel design of injection products.In this paper, the theory of concurrent design and manufacturability analysis technology are employed, which ensures the parallel operation with design and manufacture, improved the ability to design complex products. The method is conducive to enhancing the domestic design level of automobile injection components.
