This article reviews the developing history of the direct torque control technology, sets up the mathematics model of the synchronous permanent magnet motor systematically, explains in detail the direct torque control principle and research profoundly the dynamic and static performance. To restrain the torque and current ripples the intelligence method is applied to the permanent magnet synchronous motor direct torque control (PMSM DTC) system: An fuzzy controller is designed to replace the switching table and two hysteresis controllers and the flux error and the torque error were both properly divided into several fuzzy subsets; A novel radial basis Function (RBF) neural networks estimator is design to the value of the flux linkage, and the neural networks structure design, learning samples and training algorithms are expounded.On the basis of in-depth analysis of PMSM mathematical model, the models and simulation of conventional DTC and DTC using intelligence method for PMSM is carried on by MATLAB/SIMULINK, the results show that the feasibility of the direct torque control is fine, control structure is simple, dynamic response performance is ideal. The intelligence DTC strategy, which is designed base on the characteristic of the PMSM, is able to achieve more superior operation performance than that of the conventional DTC. Torque ripple is restrained obviously. The system control performance is improved.On the base of theoretical analysis and simulation research, the PMSM DTC digital control system is implemented successfully, TMS32OLF2407ADSP is used as the core-processing chip of the digital control system, and Intelligent Power Module (IPM) is used as the power switch component. The hardware platform of the system is developed, and the real time software is designed based on compiling language. Moreover, the DTC system is experimented on 3000W permanent magnet synchronous motor, the results of the experiments show that the PMSM DTC for the intelligence method can achieve high static and dynamic performance with preferable practical value.
