Reference From Traditional Dwellings To Fuzhou Modern Architecture Design

This article begins from the origin of the phenomena of"similarity"and"duplicate"in modern architecture design and urban planning, points out the significance in devoting more efforts to the development of modern regional architectures. To vigorously develop regional architectures, we should firstly do some research in traditional dwellings; so the importance of traditional dwellings are quite obvious. Here we should deepening the purpose and significance of this research.This article firstly analyzes the traditional architectures in Fuzhou, especially the typical one—the three lanes and seven alleys building complex. Through detailed introduction and analyses, the paper puts forward the four features of Fuzhou traditional dwellings: (1) symmetrical layout; (2) suitable building materials adapted to local conditions; (3) ingenious sculptures; (4) graceful skyline.What's more, this article introduces the modern building (especially modern regional building) case in Fuzhou. Through analyses and references to traditional features, this article elicits the developed features as follows: (1) reproduce the symmetrical features with citing the space with specific meanings; (2) strengthen the comprehensive application of variation and simplification malfunction; (3) juxtaposition of modern architecture figuration and regional decoration; (4) abundantly utilize local building material; (5) increase the contents of building technology.This article undergoes the comparison of features between traditional architecture and modern architecture in Fuzhou, inducts the architectural typology and claims that the modern architecture design should keep to the following way: sufficiently excavate and analyze the features of local traditional architecture and apply it to the modern architecture design.Finally, the conclusion is drawn and deepened; the article put forward the prospects as well: in order to avoid the"similarity"in urban architecture, we can take the way of analyzing the traditional architecture, taking it for reference; guiding and carrying forward the essence in traditional architecture and devote major efforts to the development of regional architectures.
