| Along with the development of modern society, it seems hard to have the energy conservation, environmental protection, comfort and economical development to co-occur in the field of architectural design. How to improve the existing architecture design to achieve the balance of various contradictions has become a complicated problem. However, based on Chinese traditional culture and profound eastern civilization, it is a feasible research direction to find, inherit and develop excellent microclimate design from traditional dwellings. This paper regards the Jiangnan traditional dwelling houses as the research object in the perspective of architectural microclimate. With methods of human settlements environmental analysis, field study, dwelling design project and software simulation, this paper observes, analyze and summarize the essential philosophy of architectural design of Jiangnan traditional dwelling houses. And based on the proposed paradigm of design for modern dwellings, an actual commercial project of re-design of a downtown is conducted in this paper. Works in this paper include:1. This paper observes and analyzes the microclimate of Ganxi formal house and find: even now, the architectural design of Ganxi formal house still plays an important effect to adjust the microclimate in natural manner.2. This paper thoroughly summarized the architectural design of microclimate within the Jiangnan traditional dwelling houses. This lays an empirical foundation for modern dwelling design by utilizing and referring to excellent traditional houses.3. This paper proposes the "microclimate architectural design for modern Jiangnan dwelling" based on the work mentioned above. This work also provides the feasible foundation for inheritance and development of the excellent Chinese traditional culture of architecture design.4. Based on the proposed "microclimate architectural design for modern Jiangnan dwelling", this paper provides an actual commercial project to demonstrate the validity of microclimate design with method of software simulation. The experimental results show the proposed design framework for modern dwellings can effectively achieve the balance of energy conservation, environmental protection, comfort and economy. |
