Concrete structures strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced plastic sheet is anew retrofit method in the field of civil engineering.it is being widely used in civilengineering in and abroad because of its light weight, high intensity, easy constructionand corrosive. The behavior of the flexural RC member bonded with CFRP sheet on itis investigated from anti-bending, anti-cutting and anti-retorting in this paper.Themain contents are as follows:1. On anti-bending, a total of twelve kinds of specimens-RC beams are devisedand there are two specimens in every group of which. Type of rehaLlitation of thetwelve groups are different from each other, and the difference is mainly in quantityand position of CFRP and the type of load imposing on. It deserts the curves onload-steel bar pulling strain and load-CFRP pulling strain. The experimental resultshows that after bonded with CFRP, the retrofitted beam has significant flexuralstrength gain, and deformation and crack width has greatly fall. Otherwise, theexperimental result shows that quality of bonding is vitally important to full handlingof CFRP. Based on this study, practical design methods are proposed, which havegood agreement with the experimental results and trends to be safe.2. On anti-shearing, based on the experiment of nineteen simply supportedreinforced concrete beams strengthened in shear with extremely bonded carbon fibersheet,the failure type,the ultimate shear strength and the influence factors that arerelated to shear strengthening effect are researched and analyzed. According to theanalysis of the experimental results, a formula for estimating the shear capacity isproposed. Comparing with experimental data,the calculation results show goodagreement. The test results show that the shear strength is obviously increased and thecapality of these beams is also improved.3. On anti-retorting, it experiments eleven retortion members which contains tenwith CFRP and one without it. The factors of amount,mode,lay are all taken intoaccout. According to the analysis of the experimental results, a formula for estimatingthe retorting capacity is proposed. It indicates that the CFRP can improveanti-retorting carrying capacity, rigidity, and recede the crack width.With more deeply researching and gradually knowing to good behaviors of CFRP,drawing on of which will be more wide in structure rehaLlitation field.
