This essay discussed the aesthetic background and development history of transparency theory, analyzed the architecture transparency theory proposed by Colin Rowe and Robert Slutzky, and the context background of this theory. Combined with the rising trend of "skin" buildings from the end of 20 century, the essay tried to make further explanation and supplement to architecture transparency theory.Essay took The classification of Literal Transparency and Phenomenon Transparency presented by Rowe and Slutsky as reference, tried to start with space depth and the visual perception essence of transparency, to make supplement and development to architecture transparency with the classification of "deep transparency" and "shallow transparency".
