As a classical theory of the construction field, transparency is undoubtedly one of the most important architectural theory which works in twentieth Century.Based on the rich knowledge and high insight and judgment,Colin Rowe and Robert Slutzky research and analysis of the quality of the theory about cubism painting,Le Corbusier and other architects of modern architecture, and put forward a set of effective evaluation tools to try to establish new aesthetic standards in the construction domain. In the subsequent academic research, transparency is gradually transformed into a set of design tools about creating excellent space system. Its design techniques and organizational means are constantly being emphasized and developed. At the end of the last century, the rise of "epidermis" architecture and the pursuit of contemporary architecture about design freedom, continuity, multidimension and uncertainty are the new developments of transparency. In the information age,no matter the difference about architectural style and faction, many architects invariably pursue of transparency under their respective theory. However,in recent years, due to the prevalence of Mannerism on contemporary architecture and the distorted of the understanding about the specific connotation and transparent nature, there often caused the misuse and misunderstanding about transparency.Transparency is also gradually reduced to the form tools, and in a number of architectural design about"out of control" occurred repeatedly. With the help of transparency theory,we summarize the elements and application technique about transparent design. The whole article makes "Concept--Theory--Method--Examples" as the clue of the research, the research content mainly includes the introduction of transparency theory, the induction of performance techniques and Examples of application these three parts.First of all,in the theoretical part, according to the concept of transparency and Colin Rowe's transparency theory a systematical description and introduction are summarized; Then combined with the actual case we summarize some transparent design elements and application techniques; Finally, mainly introducing a complete design scheme in applied chapters to analyze and demonstrate the design method and skill of transparency. In summary,Based on transparency theory of Colin Rowe and Robert Slutzky and combined with many examples,we summarize the essential significance and design methods of transparency from the analysis of the existing cases and the design guiding these two aspects and strive to provide another evidence by enhancing the transparency theory from the shallow level as a evaluation tool to the shallow level as design tools. At the same time,in a certain sense, transparency provides a new perspective for understanding and developing of architectural theory and offers a more broad thinking for architectural design and practice.
