As important structures in traversing the channels, immersed tunnels are widely used for their prominent advantages. With the development of the national economy, immersed tunnels will be inevitably used as the main means of traversing rivers, bays and seabed. However, immersed tunnels are generally build in soft soil shallowly and affected greatly by the earthquake. With a view to their importance and underwater particularity, the destruction of immersed tunnels will be disastrous. Therefore, it is necessary to make research of immersed tunnels on earthquake-resistant. Presently analysis and design on earthquake-resistant are always deal with as planar issue in and abroad. There are few researches on seismic responds of a tunnel-soil system. Taking Guangzhou Zhou Touzui Immersed Tunnel as an example, the paper is on the basis of the mathematical model proposed by Choshiro Tamura and Shunzo Okamoto from Japan, by using finite element method, this article has dealed with the seismic responses of Guangzhou Zhou Touzui Tunnel. In the analyses the EL-Centro wave is adopted under the condition of rigid joint, hinge joint and elastic joint. Design recommendation is proposed on the basis of this analysis. The results show that: it is rational to adopt the model of mass and spring and consider the tunnel as an elastic beam. The tunnel joint has distinct effect on max. axial force, but tiny effect on max. bending moment. Elastic joint is effective on minishing axial force. It also distinctly affects bending moment which is near to joint of tunnel. So we can say that elastic joint can improve dynamic property of the tunnel joint.
