With the continuous development of pulsed power technology, the application of it in the construction of the national defence and national product become widely. As one of the important aspects of pulsed power technology, high power pulse power supply gain more and more attention.In order to meet the needs of space electromagnetic launch technology, the pulsed power system with high precision became absolutely necessarily. The performance of pulsed power system basically due to the characteristics of the discharge switch. As one aspect of the pulsed power system of space electromagnetic launch technology, this project not only describe the configuration, the characteristic and the working structure of the pulsed power system, but also analyze the characteristics of the triggered vacuum switch which is used in the pulsed power system. The main achievements are as follows:1. The models of single pulse forming network and multi-module pulsed-power system are founded. The composing and important components of the PPS in millisecond are introduced in this paper. The function of components in PPS is analyzed. The criterion for choosing the components is got. And with the simulating of the single pulse forming network , the parameters of every components in PPS are finally got.2. An eight-module programmable capacitor-based pulsed power system is designed with some simulation. An integrated pulsed triggered programmer, triggered loop for switch and experimental data processing device are designed and manufactured. The different electromagnetic launcher tests and experiments are presented. The difference between of experimental and theoretical results is analyzed.3. The concerned parameter of TVS is given. The triggered and breakdown mechanism of TVS is expatiated by analyzing the forming and expansion of initial plasma ball. The structure, triggered mode and typical triggered loop are described. The reliability design of triggered electrode is given contraposing different triggered structure.4. The characteristic of triggered vacuum switch is analyzed by some experimentation. The experimental results imply that the polarity of the main gap voltage and the trigger pulse strongly influenced the delay characteristics of TVS.
