Numerical Control (NC) technology is the brain of modern machine and equipment manufacturing. At the same time, it is also a key technology in manufacturing automation. As a main part of NC system, developing high-performance spindle drive system has great practical significance which will improve the competitiveness of homemade NC products.Based on indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) theory, the thesis mainly focuses on the study of digital ac spindle driver system, using asynchronous motor as actuating motor. The system simulation model, experimental platform, and software design are studied as the three main parts of the research.Firstly, the basis of indirect field-oriented control theory is reviewed, and then the key issues of IFOC realization are analyzed. Aiming at upgrading the electrical output torque and dynamic characteristics in the field weakening region, an improved field weakening method is studied. Based on theory analysis, the control system simulation model is set-up using Matlab/Simulink,and the improved field weakening control method is verified. After that, the hardware platform, which based on the high performance motor controller ADMC401, is designed. The hardware architecture is described and the main circuit modules are showed off; The DSP software task is scheduled as non-real-time control tasks based on cyclic calling mode and real-time control tasks driven by interrupt mode. The main program including interrupt procedures and the algorithm flow processes of main function modules are presented. Finally, the system simulation results and experimental results are analyzed to verify the design. A proposal for further study is also put forward.
