The support of steel trestle bridge of terminal in port of DaLian experienced differential settlement,it was repaired once to go back to work,but the more differential settlement emerged once again,so that it can't work normally.This paper mainly analyses the reason of differential settlement of the support of steel trestle terminal and forwards resolvents to strengthen it.During the process ofresloving the problem,this paper discusses and designs the support to adjust to differential settlement.After analysis,on one side,the settlement is caused both by the geologic condition and the relationship between the old and new structures,on the other side,that's because one of the four supports is located on the rubble bed while the others are located on caissons,so the foundations are not the same for the four supports.This paper forwards three schemes:the first one is designing a caisson under the support which experiences settlement to demollish the differences among the four supports.The second scheme is foundation treatment,using impact holing cast-in-situ pile,The third one is to design a support to adjust to differential settlement.Making use of ANSYS structrual analysis software,determine the worst loading condition.At the same time,it concludes that the stress of beams are mainly influnced by the founation other than mooring force.So the main task of this paper is to resolve the settlement caused by foundation.Alter comparision,the authour found though the former two schemes are reasonable and can slove the problem at a time,they are not feasible.The first scheme must expand bedding under the caisson of support 1,this method must disturb the old terminal nearby.When implements the second one,it must disturb the old terminal,and the impact holing cast-in-situ pile can bear much lateral force.Designing a support to adjust to differential settlement can not only slove the real project problem,but also ecnomical.So,in conclude,when there is no way to kill the differential settlement,there is one method which is desining a support to adjust to it.This paper designs this kind of support while strengthening the steel restle terminal.
