With the development of social economy and the increasing improvement of business economic benefit consciousness, more and more attention is paid to save electricity, reduce energy loss by entire society day by day, especially for power supply and distribution enterprises. At present, there are some ubiquitous problems in power supply and distribution system, such as large quantity of distribution transformers, high-energy loss, low level of automatization and large amount of workload for operation and maintenance, etc. Therefore, it is crucial to implement transformer economical operation control by using technical means, which takes practical significance on reducing energy loss and saving electricity.Transformer economical operation relates to the full use of existing facilities to maximally lower power consumption of transformers with reasonable selection of operation modes, optimization adjustment of load curve, optimal combination of running position, melioration of current operation conditions and other measures, on the basis of insurable safe operation and sufficient power supply.Firstly, the research current status and the developing tendency of transformer economical operation are introduced, and a new effective scheme to solve the difficulty of transformer's actual parameters not meeting nameplate parameters is proposed by combining with the analysis in primary theory of transformer economical operation. Secondly, real-time control strategy of transformer economical operation based on short-term load forecast has been proposed with pertinency, through emphasizing on actual operation condition of distribution transformers and several kinds of work conditions of transformer economical operation on the base of summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of load forecast method in power system. Finally, transformer automatic switching devices based on real-time control strategy above are developed. Some specific research work has been done as follows:â‘ Utilizing the real-time load data of transformer, the actual parameter and the power loss characteristic curve of transformer are processed by extrapolated method approximated by least square method. According to this, the economical operation mode of power transformer is determined and the technical problem of unconformity between transformer's actual parameter and nameplate parameter.â‘¡Introducing load forecasting into the real-time control of transformer economical operation, economical operation mode of power transformer can be determined by the load curve through load forecasting and then resolve the loss differential value under different operation modes using objective energy conservation function. And these can make the transformer avoid in-out of service frequently and farthest reduce operation times. Consequently the operational risk is reduced and the security and practicability are improved.â‘¢Transformer auto-switching devices, integrated the economical operation algorithm of transformer, are developed. The devices not only improve the reliability of power supply but also reduce the power loss of transformer, and implement transformer economical operation.
