The Electro-Mechanical Braking System (EMB), which takes the place of conventional brake actuator-liquid or air pressure, is a new conception of braking system. The advantages such as no brake fluid, desponding quickly, reliable capability, safe and propitious to environment protecting give EMB an exciting future and market value. In order to research the control strategy and algorithm and the application of EMB system, a test-rig was established. For these, the following points were finished in this thesis:1, Based on the available materials, the mechanical parts of the EMB test-rig were designed and machined, and also a driving circuit consist of an integrate circuit -- IRF250 to the torque motor was designed.2, The software system of the host computer suitable for the EMB test-rig was designed and developed based on a NI PCI-6024E multifunction DAQ card. With the PC serving as hardware platform, the MFC (Microsoft Foundation Class) as the software platform, the software system communicates with the NI PCI-6024E multifunction DAQ card through the PCI bus. Its main functions are real-time simulation calculating, displaying and storing the datam controlling the equipment throngh the interface and communicating with the multifunction DAQ card.3, By testing on the EMB test-rig, the function was achieved that acquiring the real-time brake desire of driver to control the motor torque in linearity rule according to the displacement of brake pedal. And then the rollover control function to a vehicle was actualized with the EMB test-rig by using PID control. The EMB test-rig has been built up, which lays solid foundation for further researching on the characteristics and control algorithm of the EMB system.
