In this paper, a sliding observer(SMO) based position sensorless vector control system and a parameter adaptive speed control algorithm were studied.First of all, the history of the development of PMSM control techniques was introduced briefly, and the development of position sensorless control was reviewed.Secondly, coordinate transformation method was introduced briefly and PMSM models on both stationary and rotary coordinate were given. The vector control method of PMSM was discussed. The simulation results using MATLAB/ SIMULINK showed its effectiveness.Sliding mode observer theory was discussed, improved and used to estimate the position and speed of the motor rotor. A simulation model was constructed and the position sensorless control of PMSM was realized. Simulation and experiment results showed its effectiveness and rationality.A speed control algorithm based on back-stepping theory was designed, and simulation results showed that it had strong robustness and could attenuate negative effects on system performance caused by parametric uncertainty and load disturbances.Finally, control circuits and peripheral circuits using TMS320LF2407A DSP were designed. Control software was composed and the main program and interrupt handling procedure flowcharts were given.
