According to the developmental tendency of the high-powered compressor, rapidly developing the technical study of a compressor design and experiment, grasping the key technology of a compressor are significant to research power equipment in the national economy domain of aviation, energy, traffic and chemical industry. It is very important to research the compressor working performance and fine structure of the flow field for the future design improvement of the compressor.Considering that the complete machine experimental expense of a multi-stage compressor is so great that analyzing the compressor characteristic by using numerical simulation method is feasible , applying the commercial software NUMECA to simulate the compressor. In this article, mainly researching the operational principle of an axial flow compressor and the variation rule of the aero dynamical parameters in the inner flow field of this compressor, laying stress on the qualitative analysis of the distributing form in compressor flow field and the parametric variation in the design working condition; analyzing the effect of pressure ratio and flux variation on compressor off-design performance; studying the developmental variation of the total pressure aberration in the flow passage; explaining the mechanism of the compressor performance change in different rotate speed and different flux condition; giving reasonable analysis of some phenomena such as a surging and a jam; plotting the axial flow compressor's performance characteristics curves.Owing to the complex flow field in the axial flow compressor, the numerical calculus workload is very large. It is very difficult to arrive at the high accuracy. The paper's prime task is to effectively estimate for the axial flow compressor's interior flow quality through the numerical simulation method, so as to carry on a more systematic analysis for the characteristic, and to provide some references to improve the compressor structure in the future.
