Controlling of excitation system for synchronous generator is one of the important method to ensure that the power system stability. Since 1950s, excitation control system has been made on a series of results. Synchronous generator excitation system has been transformed to the standard performance requirements of mixed H2/H∞control issues, excitation system of synchronous generator has been studied. Mixed H2/H∞control theory is popular academic studies in recent years. It belongs to robust control areas. Its aim is improving the dynamic precision of system and the ability to restrain the load disturbance in case of considering system model uncertainty. Leaner Matrix Inequation(LMI) approach has been used to solve the mixed H2/H∞controller. This method is simple, with satisfactory results.Components of power system have been briefly introduced, after that, synchronous generator excitation system simple and complex model has been given. And on this basis, design a mixed H2/H∞controller, certainly analysis and simulation.Since the original motive of synchronous generator speed and excitation voltage coupling relations, the excitation system designers at the same time have to consider speed control. In Chapter IV mixed H2/H∞integrated controller of the synchronous generator has been design. Its aim is reducing the coupling relations of speed control and excitation system, make power system more stable and reliable. After a certain researching on single generator system, then try to apply the mixed H2/H∞integrated controller into synchronous generator parallel group of power station. Although multi-generators paralleling is the basic mode of power station, the theory and calculation is complex. Chapter V of this paper gives some simple design ideas and got some good results.
