According to the issue of the influence of the maintaining system to the fire-resistant capacity of structural components, there isn't adequate systematic research about it at present. As a result, the design specifications of each countries did not give a clear definition. Concerning to the question of side connection of the wall panels and the steel columns, the current national standard has not yet considered the impact of fire-resistant capacity from the wall panels to the steel columns. However, in case of fire, the wall panels will affect the warming and the sectional temperature distribution of the steel columns, so that the temperature distribution of the cross-section of steel column is uneven. As a result, the side constraints of the wall panels affect the ultimate strength of the steel column and may cause the change of instability. The paper draws useful conclusion by the use of the finite element analysis and provides a reference for Engineering Design and Research.Through the finite element analysis of the wall panels with steel columns in the steel structure residential system, at room temperature we found that as the increasing of the number of connections of the wall panels and steel columns, the length of the calculation weak steel shaft decreases but its stability capacity increases. However, when the connection points surpass a certain number, the buckling steel shaft direction turns from weak axis to strong axis, despite the capacity increases, but only a very small margin.Through the finite element analysis of the wall panels with steel columns in the steel structure residential system, at a high temperature, we got a number of load ratio, a number of connections of the bearing capacity of steel columns. Found that the stability of steel increases with the increase of the load carrying capacity, it also increases with increasing of the connections of the wall panels and steel columns. If we have fewer connections, the weak axis of the steel column is instable and if we have more connections, the strong axis of the steel column is instable. Besides the stability capacity of the strong axis are better than the weak axis. The direction of instability changes as the change of the connections of the steel columns.
