Vehicle active suspension is able to adjust or produce controlling force between wheel and vehicle body according to road conditions. So it can restrict vehicle vibration and improve the performance of suspension and achieve the purpose of improving ride comfort and handling stability simultaneously.Three control strategies have been study in this thesis, there are PID control strategy, Fuzzy logic control strategy, Fuzzy PID control strategy. in this thesis, three forms of active suspensions are designed by applying three control strategies discussed above, and then a quarter car mathematical model of two-DOF is built. A sorts of simulations have been carried out respectively by means of the control simulation software Matlab/Simulink on this three forms of active suspensions. Three performance indexes: acceleration of vehicle body, dynamic flexibility of suspension and dynamic load of tyre are evaluated. As a result, dynamic response in time domain can be got.Simulation results show that all this three different forms of active suspensions can remarkably reduce the vehicle body acceleration, dynamic flexibility of suspension and dynamic load of tyre. that implies active suspension improves ride comfort and handling stability well. Among this three control strategies, the control effect of Fuzzy-PID control is the best.
