Steel deck bridge pavement, as a key technology of long-span steel bridge deck, is a hotspot research both in China and abroad these years. Fatigue failure is one of the chief destruction of steel deck bridge pavement. Abased on the researches of steel bridge deck pavement and related to fatigue failure of most long-span steel bridge deck both in China and abroad, take composite beam test as carrier and aim at Guangzhou Zhujiang Whampoa bridge,we indicate the limitation in conventional fatigue test methods and research on mew fatigue test method from the particular stress characteristic of steel deck bridges.Firstly, we introduce the structure and problems using in orthotropic deck box girder and indicate that fatigue cracking is one of the most difficult problems. Meanwhile, we particularly introduce the fatigue performance research condition of asphalt mixture and steel deck bridges at home and abroad. We indicate the shortage of traditional test methods. Abased on these researches, we put forward textual research content and technical line.Secondly, abased on the analytical research before, we make use of large-scale finite element analysis software—ANSAYS and set up the mechanical analysis model of Guangzhou Zhujiang Whampoa bridge. Analyzing part stress characteristics, we establish theoretical basis for designing composite beam equifinality model. For these preconditions, we translate the local reaction of orthotropic deck box grider which made by wheel loads into simply composite beam. Using part co-action theory for reference, we set up new style composite beam model of steel deck bridge pavemet.In addition, on basic of the theoretical model we found and composite beam experimental researches in China and abroad, we design the composite beam test model. Meanwhile, aiming at Guangzhou Zhujiang Whampoa bridge's practical situation, we establish test load control model and frequency on load.In the end, we proceed the composite beam test of different textual association of steel deck bridge. Emphases research on the fatigue property of the two kinds epoxy asphalt pavement and modified SMA pavement. In conclusion, we recommend the optimal pavement structure precept for Guangzhou Zhujiang Whampoa bridge.
