Along with fast development of our country infrastructure enterprise and the Western Development,the First-class highway moves quickly to the southwest mountain area, and the highway tunnel has also got quick development. However,because of geological disaster,the geological prediction comes out to be a nessesary practice in tunnel construction; Excavation in the tunnel after the quality control that often appear in a number of quality problems, in order to quickly detect these problems, we need an economic and accurate detection equipment.Making use of the ground penetrating Radar to geological prediction is a kind of economical and accurate forecast method.The paper elaborates on the principles,influential factor, method of measuring and method of establishing of ground penetrating Radar applicated to advancedly forecast geology and construction quality monitor in tunnel construction by the Pan (Zhi hua) to the Tian (fang) highway construction project. Combined with the practical cases of Wang Jiangling tunnel,this thesis discussed the formation stage division method which is suitable for the Wang Jiangling tunnel.the image appearance characteristic of the bad geologic body in radar and determination basis is proven for example of the fault crushed zone, the weak band, the Fushui belt, the worked-out section and so on. Through detecting the thickness of the tunnel lining as well as behind empty, rock fissures and other diseases of the tunnel with ground-penetrating radar,combined with the practical cases of the 1st of Li Yuanqi tunnel,the image appearance characteristic of tunnel plant diseasesin radar and example standard is discussed, for example of the lining of tunnel thickness as well as behind empty and so on. The research of this paper has useful experience for the similar project in the future.
