With the rapid development of national traffic and increasing, the comprehensivenational strength has been improving, high-tech is unde r de velop ing, a nd the construction ofhighway tunnel has entered a golden era of rapid development. The safety and quality ofconstructions become an important Part of the tunnel construction Process. The groundPenetrating radar gets an extensive application in the construction of highway tunnelbecause of it fast scan, simple operation, light weight, high effective shield and intuitionalimage.There remain many problems in the GPR's application of tunnel geological prediction,such as the normalization of site ope ration, the rationality of parameter setting andprocessing method of data, this paper combined with the application of GPR in tunneladvance geological forecast, Summarized a set of standardized work methods, including thelayout method of measuring line in detection, detection parameter setting and the matterswhich should be noted in the detection process; by referring and correcting thecharacteristics of the radar detection images which get in the specific geological condition,the detection images which get in practical engineering by GPR are interpreted, hence, theaccuracy and rationality of the forecast results are improved, the related actual excavation oftunnel proves the validity of this method.The radar detects tunnel lining not only to monitor construction quality, but also toprovide accurate and reliable information for the hidden danger exclusion. It has greateconomy and society value and very broad prospects for application development. In thispaper, the principle and method for quality testing of tunnel lining is introduced by usinggeo-radar. Some typical radar images about testing of tunnel lining are explained.Tunnel-lining thickness, gap and fractured bodies can be located directly on theseimages.This is very useful in quality testing of tunnel-lining.
