The steel structure dwelling houses is the outcome of the development of society and economic. It meets the necessity of the housing industrialization and the requirement of the sustainable development. The steel structure dwelling houses have the advantages as good performance under seismic action, fast and convenient construction and cycling and reutilization. This thesis tries to summarize the development of steel structure dwelling houses from multiple angles, which includes the structure system, new components, new joints and the envelop system, etc.Studies on the structure system of steel structure dwelling houses: analyzing some common structure systems of steel structure dwelling houses which include steel frame, braced steel frame and steel frame-shear wall etc; comparing the performance of lateral resistant; summarizing the areas that the above mentioned structure systems can be applicable to; introducing a few new structure systems of steel structure dwelling houses which include suspended steel and concrete mixed residential building structure system, staggered truss structure system and steel plate shear wall with slites, etc.Studies on Concrete-filled Rectangular Tubular Column: introducing and comparing three calculation theories of column; summarizing the actuality of column from the following aspects-experimental research, calculation formula, machining and constructing techniques; puting forward the slenderness ratio calculation theory, making FEA and summarizing the axial compression experiment of special-shaped column composed of concrete filled square steel tubes. This thesis considers the special-shaped column composed of concrete filled square steel tubes as a new steel structure dwelling house system which is sound in structure and nice in function. Therefore, the future of developing and promoting this new structure system is bright and prosperous.Studies on two new kinds of joints: vertical stiffener joint and diaphragm-through style beam-column joint. This part concerns about joint construction, calculation theory and formula of bearing capacity, static experiment and pseudo-static experiment. This thesis considers two new kinds of joints are sound in mechanical properties and reasonable in construction. The joints are worth to be popularization and application. Studies on the envelop system: introduction and application of new wall materials and new bricks.
