The Dolphin made up of pile foundation is an important structural form of deep water wharf. The analysis of which involved wave-structure interaction, pile-soil interaction and force analysis of structure space. The design of structure is not yet perfect, a complete design theory has not formed. Most of this structural form were built in the open domain which has deep-water and rough sea, steel piles were selected, the stability of structural and project benefits were directly affected by the piles'arrangement and stress conditions,it is very necessary to optimize the piles arrangement, which makes piles force uniformly and reduce project cost indirectly.In this paper, a structural 3d finite element model is established in ANSYS, and the optimizing model for the piles'arrangement is introduced through an improved adaptive genetic algorithm-case study of Chenshan chemical wharf. The major work is as follows:1. The 3th orders stokes wave theory is adopted for the wave analysis of progressive wave, and standing wave theory is used to simulate the side pressure on bearing platform, as while Morison formula is applied to calculate wave force on piles.2. Linear elastic subgrade reaction method is used to describe pile-soil interaction, APDL is used to establish the structural 3d finite element model, the necessary data for optimization work can be provided.3. The optimization mathematical model is established with dimensionl location parameters as design variables and combination difference of axial force and displacements as objective function.4. Optimization program is compiled by the method of an improved adaptive genetic algorithm in MATLAB which be used to optimize the arrangement of pile-case study of Chenshan chemical wharf. Its analytical results demonstrate that total piles of the structure are reduced and the condition of pile force is improved obviously compared with the results from un-optimized.
