For the reasons of eroding, aged interface and valve, installation quality, natural gas pipes on offshore platform are easy to generate holes and crack, all these factors can cause gas releasing. When they mix with air and the density achieves to a certain degree, ignition and explosion area begin to form. Source of ignition will lead ignition and explosion. In order to reduce serious consequences, it is necessary to study diffusion intensively.We use FLUENT to show release source's diffusion which is under the different wind directions in a intuitive way, and the influence to natural gas pipe's releasing and diffusion which is from obstacle. We analog, analyze and discuss the air stream's distribution rule, and then obtain the density field, temperature field, pressure field and so on. In order to provide reference for safety management, accident investigation, engineering design, emergency measures and risk assessment better.We use FLUENT to construct simulation models based on provided offshore platform., then mesh it, finally analyze and calculate it. We set up design conditions in according to actual environment. At last we can obtain each point's density, temperature, pressure and so on. These data were showed in different colors, easily observe and analysis. The danger zones on the platform are based on results calculated from FLUENT. We can set up detectors there in order to detect the releasing and diffusion density and make real-time detecting. Then take action timely, in order to protect person and equipments furthest, avoiding personal injury and property loss.
