The earth is a large heat collector, which collects a lot of solar energy. Geothermal source heat pump is a kind of new air conditioning technology, which uses the geothermal energy as its cold and thermal source. The geothermal energy is a kind of new and clean energy, and it is also renewable.The core technology of the geothermal source heat pump is the design and construction of the heat exchanger, which is actually a series of heat pipe buried underground. The key procedure is to get the exact character of the soil, including the gaining and giving off heat and the total amount of the heat exchanged when the system operated in a steady state.In order that the parameters used in the design is correct, in this project, some experiments about the heat exchanging pipes underground are taken place in the Xiqing district of the Tianjin Industry University. The results of the experiments about the parallel U-tubes provide some accordance for the optimization and the reliable operation of the heat pump.In the research, some real-time monitors are used to get the temperature of the soil in different depths. The thermal response and the coefficient of heat transmission are also analyzed.Anyway, there are also some analysis about the current phase, the potential advantages and the prospect being discussed. The advantages on economics and technology of the heat pump system are given in detail. In all, the heat pump system with the soil as its thermal resource is kind to the environment, smart and reliable. It saves energy, costs less in operation, and the air quality is higher. At the same time, it has a longer life and less space is needed.According to the research results, geothermal source heat pump will never pollute the water underground and hardly affects the underground soil temperature. When the depth is more than 20 meters, there is no effect. Even when it is less than 20 meters, the temperature change will never exceed 0.3 degree.The soil itself is wonderful for energy storage. The slight temperature rise caused by the system will do little effect to the soil which contains lots of energy. When it is in spring and autumn, the system stops and the soil will recover to its regular state very soon. With the advantages mentioned above, the system has large prospect. If it can be combined with other energy-saving conditioning system, the advantages will be more prominent.
