The corrosion and breakage of thick ash pipeline will not only create enterprise's production suspension, the leakage of ash and water will also cause a large number of cultivated lands to be polluted. So how to put down or stop the ash pipeline corrosion has great economic and social benefits.Because of the serious corrosion and breakage, leakage of ash on the underground steel pipeline has been happened frequently in a power plant. The pipeline's information has been collected in details, and the method of PCM has been used to inspect and estimate the pipeline's coating and leaking point. The soil corrosiveness, the exterior interference current and the pipeline's disturbance voltage has been examinated separately. Through the generalized analysis and deep research to the parameters, the main reason of corrosion on pipeline is: the soil that pipeline buried in has strong causticity, and the outer coating of pipeline was damaged badly, and also external interference current corrosion and galvanic corrosion were happened. After the corrosion reasons of pipeline were discovered, some advice was given to deal with the corrosion: excavate the partial pipelines and repair the pipe and the coating, supply cathodic protection. The detail of cathodic protection was designed, and the contrasts of two kind of feasible cathodic protection plans were given. In the final several key points to the embedment and maintenance of the buried pipe line were proposed.
