Research On Result Evaluation Based On The Manoeuvring Of Shiphandling Simulator

In recent years, the training of Shiphandling Simulator in the education fields, has performed a great role on the operators, especially on the students, in improving the shiphandling skill and the perceptual knowledge. In order to evaluate the manoeuvring ability of operators, find the deficiencies of manoeuvring and improve the operating method of simulators, it is necessary to evaluate every respect of the results fairly and logically, based on the manoeuvring of shiphandling simulator. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate every index that affects the berthing operation, based on the result of shiphandling simulator operation, and obtain the comprehensive evalution.The berthing manoeuvring can be divided into three segments, navigation in fairway, turning operation and alongside operation. During berthing, the vessel will be affected with the environment and restricted with the ship equipments. In order to make sure the safe of ship, the navigator should operate the equipment of ship or tugs properly, to overcome the effects of environment.The reference value of indexes that affect the berthing should be set on the basis of the theory of calculation and the ordinary practice of seamen. The membership value of each index that affects the result of shiphandling would be calculated according to the theory of fuzzy mathematics. And the weight of each index was affirmed according to the affect level in shiphandling. Later, the comprehensive evaluation of simulator operation was assessed with the comprehensive evaluation method of fuzzy mathematics.The evaluation process is compiled with the language of Visual C# 2003, based on the mathematical model mentioned in the paper, to carry out the automatic evaluation of maneuvering result on shiphandling simulator.The key tasks researched in this paper are as follow:1. Based on the difference of operation environment and operation purpose, set the indexes that affect the every respects of berthing.2. According to the theory of calculation and the ordinary practice of seamen, decide the reference of indexes and the function of membership.3. Establish the model of assessment with the comprehensive evaluation method of fuzzy mathematics and compile the process of evaluation.The idea about the shiphandling in this paper comes from the accumulation of several years in author's career, which could be useful for reference and discussion to some colleagues.
