The assembled camshaft is advanced technology in manufacturing camshafts,and is also an important sign of a country's developing level of the engine manufacturing industry. The new technology of assembled camshaft,which incomparable merit with traditional camshaft,receives high takes by the developed country of automobile industry,and rapid development.Now this technology is used by many automobile production enterprise,from this technology has brought the remarkable economic efficiency.The assembled camshaft process new technology conforms to fine profit production principle and it is advanced technique of manufacture of high accuracy,high efficiency,low cost and low consumption. Makes this assembled camshaft which conform to the high performance,the low pollution engine appear importantly especially.The research and exploitation has been implemented for many years in Jilin University.In the course of the investigation,the research group did a mass of test and in-depth exploration to the connecting theory.They analyzed stress,strain and moment of the drive with simulator investigation and finite element analysis by computer.At the foundation of the connecting test,the research group researched assembled camshaft numerical assembling machine.The Mandrel of assembled camshaft automatic Loading Manipulator is the important constituent of the equipment.The pneumatic technology has been widely used in industry with its advantages of simple structure,low price,recycling ect.It is becoming one of the most important methods of the facility automation line.People draw more and more attention on it.Being based upon this point,the author do the research and the design of the manipulator with the pneumatic parts of an apparatus produced by Germany Festo group.On the one hand,the pneumatic technology can reduce the cost of energy,on the other hand,it can shorten the cycle of the products' exploitation.The study of this paper is one of the main parts of the machining technology of assembled camshaft and its automatic technology,which is one of "The 10th Five Years Key Programs for Science and Technology Development of China" program,with the imbursement of the National Science & Technology Ministry. It can improve the efficiency while producing,and it can make the process of production come to be true by using the loading manipulator.This paper aims to complete the mechanical structure design and simulation of the assembled camshaft automatic loading system(manipulator).There,this paper mainly completed the work as follows:(1) It briefly recounted the mainly assemble flow,the sorts of the assembled camshaft and the traditional camshaft and the technical advantage of assembled camshaft.(2) It briefly introduced the conception of the industrial robots,the parts and the sorts of the manipulator,its free-degree and the form of the coordinate.(3) Ascertain the whole designable scheme of the manipulatorFirst,on the condition of the process that produce the assembled camshaft,it confirmed its free-degree and the form of the coordinate,the whole process of assemble and the time's distribution of every step,and the basic parameter.On the mandrel' formal dimension and its characteristic of mass,this paper adopted the double-finger pendular pneumatic manipulator.(4) The structure design of the manipulatorAssemble camshaft automatic loading manipulator was designed by using the method of modularize design,the whole system was divided into 4 portions:hand-module,wrist-module,arm-module and waist-module.For to satisfied the precision of when fixing the orientation,the stability when machine working and the dependability,it selected which type to be used by theoretic compute.Based on the request that locomotive journey and time consumed of the loading manipulator's joints,it designed the pneumatic driving system.Based on the height of the numerical controlled machine tool,it offered the pedestal.(5) Parameterized modeling for the manipulatorIt briefly recounted the software called CATIA,and introduced how to do a model and how to transform it into a 3D-modeling with CATIA.This paper designed every modeling all used the dimension of each component provided by the FESTO group.With these models,it was assembled to be a dummy machine,with which we would do the simulation.(6) Dynamics simulationIt briefly recounted the software called CATIA,and how to transform the model in the CATIA into that in the ADAMS.This paper mainly do the Dynamics simulation in allusion to the process during that the mandrel is clamped by the hand of the manipulator,it did kinematic simulation to analyse if it is dependable and if it can get to the chuck fixed on the machine tool.The basic process of dynamics simulation is:model transmitted,model restricted,model loaded and simulation.The result of dynamics simulation turns out,the mandrel can be clamped smoothly during the loading,and it can attach the machine tool which is used to produce assembled camshaft,and it matches to the actual process.It sums up that,this paper has completed the primary design of the loading manipulator used for transmitting mandrel,the design is not mature,some structure and technics should improve,while which would accelerate the naissance of assembled camshaft product line at home,and it offers the basic for the assembled camshaft's quality. At the same time,it enhances the manufacture efficiency,and also promotes the technique renovation and development for China's engine industry.With the development of mechanical industry,automobile parts industry of our country's would develop enormously,the utilizing rate of assembled camshaft in engine would enhance greatly too,under that condition,it would bring greatly powerful market for auto produce line of assembled camshaft.
