With the fact that our country national economy develops in a high speed, modernization catches its greater and greater prosperity, large-scale projects are continuously under construction such as high-rise building of all kinds, water conservancy and electricity facilities, mine, harbor, express highway, railroad and the sources of energy project, during building process or when business being in motion, a large number of slope are inevitably formed, the side slope stability analysis has already become a important part of rock mechanics. Problem of side slope stability is involved in mining and metallurgy, water conservancy project, constructional engineering etc. Common geology disasters in our country are a total of 12 categories and 48 kinds, landslide, collapse, the mud-rock flow are to be the most common forms, belonging to geotechnical slope movement type, bringing about enormous loss every year.In the practice of large amount of project, there are plenty problems, such as unclear characteristic and the character of the side slope project, inefficient govern project measure, and often, bringing about the deformation and destroys of the side slope project, causing the maximum endangers and grave losing; or bringing about the unnecessary dissipation due to excessively conservative governing scheme. It is essential to prudently choose governing the project scheme and side slope stability analysis to satisfy a double target of safety reliably and rational economy. Judging from current rock soil engineering study means, Mechanics and numerical value analysis method has always been the basis resolving the rock soil project problem's, and the computer technology gaining its full speed development within several tens short years, which has provided a precondition and drives a strength for development of side slope stability analysis.The essence of the landslide stability studies lies in ascertain on the changing process, development law and the major factor affecting the landslide stability, thus the evaluation and prediction on the status quo and variation tendency in the future can be made, which provides design considerations for the following prevention and cure project. The procedure of slippery (oblique) slope stability appraises is mainly as the followings: geology model mathematics mechanics model-proper evaluation of calculation methods-result analysis and explanation and project application. The rationality in stability estimates is based on building the correct geology model. The rational, accurate mathematics mechanics model is the key to landside stability analysis, and it is also the significant implement to knowing and appraising landslide slope stability.At present, mathematics mechanics methods in common use are mainly Limit equilibrium method and Numerical analysis method. According to the widely used rigid body limit equilibrium theory stability analysis, it has been accumulated a wealth of engineering experience, and carried out a number of improvements and improve based on the concrete condition. With the development of computer technology, many numerical computation methods have been applied in the landslide stability analysis, such as, Finite Element Method (FEM), Scattering Element Law (DEM), Border Element Method (BEM), Lagelang Element (FLAC), Numerical Manifold Method (NMM), Discontinuous Deformation Analysis method (DDA) and so on. Considering many factors effecting landslide stability analysis which are mostly uncertainty, randomness, various evaluation methods have be used to estimate uncertain random stability analysis, for instance, neural networks, vague mathematics, genetic algorithm, gray theory, quantitative theory, information model, reliability method etc. It can be seen that the landslide stability analysis has gained very big accomplishment.This paper presents stability analysis to the Fenghuang bedding landslide in Qinghai province, on the basis of ground observation, collecting data, building a model and calculating. Analysis is mainly supported by ANSYS, GEO-SLOPE software, in ANSYS analysis, strength reduction method has been applied while in GEO-SLOPE analysis, the result from Sweden arc method (Ordinary), Bishop method (Bishop), Janbu method (Janbu) is only as a supplementary reference, as well as Spencer method (Spencer) as reference method. Therefore, the result will be more accurate.In this paper, two methods are used in landslide stability analysis in study area, one is adopting Limit Equilibrium Method, in which applying GEO-SLOPE, Geotechnical engineering visualization software, outstanding in nowadays. The other is using the ANSYS software to carry out analysis of numerical methods, constructing the two-dimensional visualization geological model of the side slope, studying the stability of landslide.Based on the above two methods, it is indicated that: in ANSYS analysis, stability analysis results from Numerical method and Limit equilibrium method are consistent, at the same time, unlike limit balancing method, ANSYS method doesn't have to ascertain the starting place of a rupture plane, it simulating directly characteristics of soil body material, finding the most dangerous sliding surface according to material yield criterion and the failure mechanism, as well as considering effects of re-distribution stress and gradually developing after the destruction, therefore the result is especially accurate. According to the outcomes in two ways, it is proposed a treatment program that is, applying pre-stressed anchor frame beam to support the slope, with a view to have a reference value for practical support of the project.
