In this paper, process control instrumentation system based on virtual instrument technology is researched. Through access to a large number of related literature to understand the development of process control instrumentation based on virtual instrument technology at home and abroad. In this paper, sensor technology, information processing technology, virtual instrument technology and computer image processing technology is used to product the heating device with the PID control mode and the hydraulic cylinder control system successful.(1) In this paper, using virtual instrument technology can achieve the methods of process control instrumentation. The core of virtual instrument technology is using the software as much as possible to realize the functions of traditional instruments. Using the data storage resources of computer can achieve data storage in the controlling process. The data can be graphics real-time and it can see the trend exchanges, also we can change the control strategy very well and make full use of the computer's network resources.(2) In the study on Virtual Instrument Technology, sensors, signal amplification of its data collection is used for the input channel. PID control unit, instruction units, handing operate instrumentation modules and process control unit is designed and debugged. In this study, using complete virtual instrument software we can design these modules which based on virtual instrument and dial interface provided by virtual instruments.(3) In the design of controlling the temperature of warm box, PID control unit, instruction unit based on Virtual Instrument Technology has been debugged. PID control algorithms has been written with LABVIEW, and the design of controlling the temperature of electric furnace based on virtual instrument is completed with calling PID control tools provided by.(4) Hardware and software in the MCU of temperature controlling unit (conventional instrumentation) is designed and debugged. The way of the resource sharing and data communication protocol between Virtual Instrument and the traditional equipment is put forward.(5) Using the way of the data between Virtual Instrument and the traditional equipment to complete the design of process control instrument in hydraulic cylinder control system based on Virtual Instrumentation technology. The modules and handing operate unit is used and debugged based on Virtual Instrument Technology.
