With the energy demand of the growing tension, saving energy and reducing consumption have become one of longtime strategic principle on the developing the economy of our country. Electric energy is one kind of secondary energy being put into use broadly and also becomes an important field of the country saving energy and reducing consumption . Reactive power compensation which is an important way of saving energy and an important project of electric system can decrease the voltage loss of electric power syetem,reduce voltage fluctuation ,improve electric power quality and reduce electric power consumption.Firstly, the main principle and controling method about the reactive power compensation is analysed and introduced ; secondly, the character of the different reactive power compensation mode is compared ;finally, an new low-voltage and intelligent reactive power compensation controller based on Single Chip Micyoco is designed..This paper using C8051F120 as CPU in hardware due to the speediness and mightiness of calculational function.Software, the form of a modular division of the functional part of the treatment not only can quickly calculate the collected signal and accurate switching commands issued, but also easy to debug and updata software.Capacitance using paralle connection with electrical meshwork as triangle and starlike mode respectively . The executive using special circuit solid relay of capacitor as cuting. the inside of solid relay contains overload detect circuit. the solid relay can get across when corresponding electric voltage overload zero .Reactive power and voltage criterion used as criterion of the group of capacitor on control strategy. comparing with control scheme of familiar power factor,the surge is avoided and the scheme is reasonable on reactive power adjusting.
