With the first phase 2×500MW and second phase 2×600MW generators,the Yi min power plant is Located in the Hulunbeier Meng of Inner Mangolid and connected to the Fengtun substation through 500kV double AC lines.At the end of eleventh five-years plan,the±500kV DC lines from the Hulunbeier Meng to Liaoning Province will be put into operation.In order to satisfy the requirement of power transmission,avoid the AC lines to pass through the Wildwood area,and certify for the safe operation of AC/DC hybrid power system,the TCSC and FSC with compensation degree of 15%and 30%respectively are installed in 500kV double AC lines from the Yi min power plant to the Fengtun substation.Although the TCSC and FSC improve the transmission capacity,the transient stability problem still exists in the Yi min transmission system. So the stability control equipments for generator shedding have to be installed at Yi min power plant.However,the fault phase selection is one of key problems.In order to ensure the operation of second phase 2×600MW generators,the stability calculation and analysis are made and the influence of TCSC to the stability control equipments is analyzed to confirm an area stability control plan.The Engineering practice being considered,several implementary plans for stability control projects are investigated,and then a feasible one of these plans is recommended.The relay protection is an important aspect of this stability control project.
