Automotive brake system is an important part of the vehicle, it directly affects the safety of automotive. With the rapid development of highways and increasing traffic density, traffic accidents are also increasing. According to the related information, among those traffic accidents caused by the vehicle itself, the brake system failure which caused the accident raises to 45%. It is obvious that the brake system is one of the most important part which ensure traffic safety. In addition, the brake system has a direct impact on the quality of the average vehicle speed and vehicle transportation efficiency, so it is one of important factors to ensure economic efficiency of transportation.In recent years, our country has published some monographs about brake system, but the quantity and depth are far from enough to meet the need of automotive industry and transportation development. There are gaps with developed countries, especially in the development of automotive brake system and vehicle design, because China mainly focus on the design and manufacture of trucks, and many advanced technology are not quite understood yet. Since the vital guarantee to the vehicle safety, as well as the research level for the automobile brake performance, improving the braking performance is the important task for the vehicle design and manufacture. According to the view of the collateral project, the treatise systematically researches the theories of the vehicle brake system, using the Visual C++ language as the procedure language, a software of designing and analyzing vehicle brake system has been developed, which is based on the typical articles of the foreign and domestic, such as Brake Design and Safety.(Rudolf Limpert, 1992, English) Applying it to a domestic vehicle, the result shows that the interface of the software is friendly and the performance is also powerful. Moreover it can meet the need of the vehicle design and improve the quality and efficiency, which reaches the expert level under the conditions of the less manpower and time. This technology can promote the automation of brake performance calculation and provide practical value.
