In this thesis,EV and active wheel developing history and recent status are described. After classifying the active wheel and traditional suspension system, select the right active wheel and the type of front suspension and rear suspension. Determine the prototype car and build the virtual prototype model of the vehicle for analysis and optimization design of handling performance and ride performance.First of all,the paper has built the complex car model by using ADAMS/view for analysis, especially built the parametric model of double-wishbone suspension. Paper carried out kinematics simulation analysis to front suspension, the changes of wheel alignments including inclination angle, caster angle, camber angle, toe angle and sideways displacement were presented when wheels bumped and rebounded, and find out the deficiency of suspension system.Paper carried out Steady static circular test procedure to analyze the handling stability of the model car.Secondly, paper carried out simulation analysis for ride performance.Paper started research form system transfer characteristic.Paper carried out simulation analysis of ride performance that based on "GB/T5902-86 ride performance test on pulse road for automobiles",and find out the deficiency of model car in ride performance. In the end, paper used parametric design study to optimize the Front Wheel alignment, and modified the parameter of Front Wheel Alignment.Paper analyzed the factors of influencing the car ride performance to find out the improvement project and simulated checking test.Paper carried out the other simulation analysis for handling stability with the improved car model.Simulation results have been contrasted to original car model. The aim of contrast is to validate the improvement.
