A variety of components in steel building need to be combined in factories or construction to become a complete structural systems. Connection between the steel structure, namely steel structure joint connection is the key in steel structure project. Many steel structure accidents and seismic damage show that the steel structures are integral destroy mainly because of the joint destroy first. Joint design does not only have important influence on structural safety, and also directly affect the manufacture, installation and construction cost about steel structure. So joint design is a key link in steel structure design.Bolt connection is most common form in normal steel structure. This connection can be divided into common bolt connection and high strength bolt connection. And the high strength bolt connection includes friction type connection and fasteners type connection. After briefly introduce the development survey, research status and connection property about joint connection of high strength bolt, this paper emphatically introduce the theory and test research about bolted connection of main and secondary girder design.During the calculating for bolted connection of main and secondary beam design, the value of additional moment which is caused by eccentricity is somewhat conservative. It usually takes e which is the distance from the center of the bolt group in secondary girder to central line of the main girder web. Use this method to design, will use more bolt often, and it is difficult to satisfy the requirements of the node structure, or the size or structure must be increased. Can not fully develop the potential of bolts. Increase the project cost. For the value of eccentricity of bolted connection of main and secondary beam, the researches are few at home and abroad. Base on the problems in domestic standards and calculation method, this paper simulates representative bolted connection joint in real project, and makes model designing, uses large-scale finite element software ABAQUS and ANSYS simulate the ultimate bearing capacity of bolts in a wide range of main and secondary girder connection respectively. Make the ultimate bearing capacity test for this model with 1/1 scale. Make a comparison between the results of test, finite element analysis and conventional method. Propose a simple and useful method for the value of eccentricity of ultimate bearing capacity calculation of bolts in connection of main and secondary beam. And through the analysis of a variety of main and secondary girder connection model with ABAQUS, verify the correctness of this method.Otherwise, this paper simulate the ultimate bearing capacity of high strength bolt with different friction coefficient and pretension force through the finite element, comprehensively master the influence of the ultimate bearing capacity which are given by friction coefficient and pretension force. Make ultimate bearing capacity tests for the single bolt and bolt group. Provide material date for the test of bolted connection of main and secondary beam. Through the comparison analysis of theoretical and experimental, found the maximum carrying capacity is not very relevant with the friction coefficient and the pretension force when the bolted connection broke.
