The PEBB(power electronic building block)technology is applied in the development of converter for battery energy storage system and a novel converter for battery energy storage system based on PEBB is designed.It overcomes the shortcomings of traditional converter.The mathematic models of active rectifier and bi-directional DC/DC converter are proposed in this thesis.A systemic simulation including the main circuit,dual closed-loop control and SVPWM using PSCAD is presented.The system controller based on LabVIEW 8.2 is also developed.Detailed designs of the main circuit include AC filter,the communication circuit and the precharge circuit are given in the thesis.The result of the experiments has proved that when testing charge and discharge operations for batteries,the converter meets the qualification of power network harmonic with good current and voltage waveforms and balances the power load.
