The prestressed suspendome structure is one kind of new structure system proposed by Kawaguchi Wei Professor in Japan, which combines single-layer reticulated shell and tensegrity system. Taking full advantages of two systems and avoiding some of their shortcomings, suspendome owns a bright future in the area of large span space structure.In the paper, first, the auther briefly introduces the background the prestressed suspendome structure was proposed, the structure styles as well as the application situation in domestic and foreign project practice, secongd, in the foundation of summarizing Predecessor's research, the auther has summarized the characteristic of the prestressed suspendome structure and the domestic and foreign research results, and proposes the main research content of this paper.Appling specialized finite element software Sap2000, for a prestressed suspendome structure whose span is 40 meters, carry out the analysis of the static performance and the stability ,and compare the results with the single-layer reticulated shell who has the same geometry parameters. Mastered the preliminary analysis methods about the static performance and the stability appling Sap2000, have understood the characteristic of the static performance and the stability, The analysis result has revealed the superiority of the prestressed suspendome structure.Through the analysis of a Kiewitt prestressed suspendome structure under the different rise to span ratio, different pole height, different prestress and different nodes form, comparing the results by those index such as vertical support thrust force, note vertical displacement and the internal force of poles of the single-layer reticulated shell above, summe up the laws to the structure with different rise to span ratio, different pole height, different prestress and different nodes form; starting from the eigenvalue analysis, through linear buckling analysis and geometric nonlinear buckling analysis, study on the stability of the prestressed suspendome structure preliminarily. Thus further put forward more beneficial suggestions, expect to offer valuable reference for more project practices.Finally, This paper has looked forward to the problems remained to further deepen research and application of the prestressed suspendome structure.
