Research On The Technology Of Ship Collision Avoidance Decision-making In Marine Traffic Safety

In ship collision accidents,the ships are seriously damaged,the goods are jeopardized,and even the people are killed or horribly mutilated,the sea is extremely polluted.It is clear that lots of collision accidents are due to the navigator's negligence, fault and actions failed to abide by the international regulations for preventing collisions at sea(COLREG).To decrease the ship collision accidents caused by men's faults and assure the saftey of ship's marine navigation,this thesis conducts a thorough research on the principles of ship collision avoidance,designs and realizes a decision-making system for ship collision avoidance.The main research work includes several parts as bellow:(1) By researching the data and literature on ship collision and collision avoidance, explain the significance of the research on ship collision avoidance,and analyze the status of the decision-making system for ship collision avoidance.(2) Classify and sum up the knowledge on the field of ship collision avoidance in accordance with COLREG,and analyze the mechanism of collision avoidance deeply based on the research on the process of ship collision.(3) Explore the method of calculating all parameters about collision avoidance, especially the relationship between the shift range of the ship and Distance of Closest Point of Approaching(DCPA) & Time to Closest Point of Approaching(TCPA). Moreover,the relationship between the change of speed and DCPA & TCPA is given.(4) Propose the overall design diagram of the decision-making system for ship collision avoidance and analyze each module of it,especially how to set up and design the ship collision avoidance knowledge base.(5) Using Visual Studio 2005,realize the decision-making system software for ship collision avoidance with friendly visible interface based on electronic chart.And take out several simulation tests on the process of decision-making for collision avoidance.It turns out that the system can analyze the encountering of two ships at sea,and it can offer reasonable decision-making proposals for collision avoidance,which can solve the collision problem effectively and improve the navigation safety at sea. The research is using in the project of the Ministry of Communications undertaken by the Navigation Research Institute of DMU and the name of the project is "The Research of AIS,VTS,and Public-net Monitoring System's Information Sharing Technology",which mainly resolves the key technologies of ships safety monitoring..
