With the Chinese government pushing forward the build of substructure,RC structure has been used wider and wider,this requires higher quality for larger diameter rebar splicing.But the traditional rebar splicing methods have more and more restricts for its splicing quality.The research and development of rebar connection focused on mechanical coupler in China after 1980s,such as the rebar sleeve extrusion splicing,the rebar cone thread splicing,the rebar parallel thread splicing and so on.But compared with the rebar compound coupler these techniques are not convenient for construction.What's more,they are invalid in retreading and rebuilding buildings.It is no doubt that the rebar compound coupler has enough carrying capacity,but because of its splicing mechanism,mechanical occlusion cannot be avoided.This article studies the coupler from the perspective of the deformation.The theoretical model is established to calculate the deformation,and also the numerical simulation method is used.Through the deepen analysis of deformation of the coupler,takes measures to eliminate the initial deformation,reduces the joint deformation.So that the deformation of coupler is reasonable and the coupler meets the stringent quality requirements.
