Low temperature performance of asphalt mixtures has been the study of civil engineering workers dedicated to research. Particularly in the north of China, under low temperature in winter, asphalt pavement cracking and a large number of transverse cracks are very common and serious diseases of the road.This article introduce the principle and process of low temperature cracking of asphalt mixtures, which is based on the theory of fracture mechanics, by using the Jintegral applications analytical methods. It build small bending beam plane model and three-dimensional model of pavement structure with the ABAUQS finite element software to analyse the mechanical properties, and get the rule of each node of the stress, strain and displacement changes from the model during the drop in temperature. At each parameter image, the numerical size of the mechanical target of each node is intuitional reflected .The article sum up the relationships of crack depth, thickness, material modulus, cooling rate and temperature changes ability .Meanwhile ,calculate the stress intensity factor, cracking split energy release rate and fracture toughness at different temperatures to predict the anti-cracking ability of asphalt mixture in low temperature. It provides a reference for the low temperature anti-cracking structure designer.
