Chinese traditional regional dwelling is the outcome of Chinese continue to adapt to the different geographical,climatic,and lifestyles.The rich form and mature approach of space organization not only open up the world the interpretation of the Chinese people's understanding of the living space,but also reflect profoundly the Chinese traditional culture.Tianshui,in the south-east of Gansu Province,is located in the junction in Shanxi, Gansu and Sichuan provinces.The territory has pleasant weather,and is known as"small Jiangnan"in the Northwest of China.Special geographical location and climate leads to unique local architecture,which has important reference value of the study of the traditional regional dwelling.The space form of traditional regional dwelling in Tianshui city has both the north and the south combination.The architectural decoration is simple but beautiful.The original color and texture close the ties between the ecological Loess Plateau areas and the traditional regional dwelling.The form of space,which is differente but focuse clearly,fully reflects the introverted character of Tianshui people.In this paper,the author starts from investigating the status of traditional houses in Tianshui,and then uses mapping,visiting and searching the relevant documents and materials methods,to research and analysis the formation reasons and the evolution process,as well as the features and other aspects of the traditional regional dwelling in Tianshui areas.The author puts the focus of research on the construction and decorative arts of the traditional regional dwelling in Tianshui area,and wishes to provide reference view to the protection and update of the in Tianshui city and the areas around.
