As a new kind of lateral resisting element in medium and high-rise building,steel plate shear walls(SPSW)has exhibited many desirable characteristics,such as high initial stiffness,high load-carrying capacity,good ductility and excellent energy absorption capacity.Lots of work has been done to investigate the post-buckling and elastic buckling behavior of unstiffened thin steel plate shear walls and stiffened steel plate shear walls.The study on steel shear wall with holes is initial stage,Especially the study on perforated steel plate Shear Walls is little touched upon.This thesis referred the ideology of study that perforating on the steel plate shearing walls reduced tension on the frame column and combined with the relevant experimental design ideas to study the elastic buckling analyses and the hysteretic behavior of perforated steel shear walls using the finite element method.Main research contents are listed as follows:A nonlinear finite element model for unperforated SPSW was developed using the as-built dimensions and measured material properities of the test specimen.In the finite element model,a non-planar initial gemotry was included.The effectiveness and validity of the model were demonstrated by comparing its monotonic and cyclic load condition with experimental results.The results showed that finite element method can predict the SPSW accurately that prepared for the lateral analysis.The elastic buckling analyses and the behavior analyses under monotonic load of some different kinds of perforated SPSW has been studied using the finite element method,and have investigated the elastic buckling load,lateral stiffness and displacement ductility factor etc.The perforated SPSW showed high lateral stiffness, excellent displacement ductility and energy dissipation characteristics.The hysteretic behavior of four kind of perforated SPSW under low cyclic load has been studied using the finite element method.It was influenced by many factors, such as diameter of the hole,column stiffness,slenderness ratio of stiffener and aspect ratio of panel etc.The research of load-displacement relationship,energy dissipation characteristics,displacement ductility capacity showed that the perforated SPSW was an excellent lateral resisting element.
