This paper takes the new lateral resisting system of Corrugated Steel Plate Shear Walls(CoSPSWs)as the object of the research,which combine the merit of the thick plate,the stiffening plate,and the anti-buckling steel plate shear walls,and through the changing of geometry,it can be avoid or resist the gravity,so it has great room for development.First,the mechanical behavior of corrugated panel is studied in this paper,and by the use of finite element numerical analysis,influences of geometric parameters on the lateral bearing force of CoSPSWs are investigated,including sinusoidal amplitude,wavelength,thickness,height,width,the gravity and the corrugated direction,and compared with the Steel Plate Shear Walls(SPSWs).Then,the stress distribution of horizontal,vertical CoSPSWs and SPSWs under gravity is studied,and the stress development and out-of-plane displacement of CoSPSWs under lateral force is studied in order to research the mechanical behavior.The results showed that the geometry of the corrugated panel plays a decisive role in mechanical behavior,horizontal CoSPSWs can avoid the gravity while vertical CoSPSWs can resist the gravity.Based on the theoretical research and parametric analysis,according to the difference of lateral force bearing mode,shear or incomplete tension field,CoSPSWs can be divided into shear yielding and shear buckling.Then,the lateral force design formula of CoSPSWs is studied through PFI model,and verified by the finite element analysis results.Finally,the seismic performance of the one-storey,one-bay CoSPSWs was simulated under the low cycle reciprocating loading via ABAQUS,and compared with the SPSWs,the hysteretic behavior,energy dissipation capacity,strength,lateral stiffness,ductility and the shearing force distribution between columns and infill plate of CoSPSWs were analyzed.The results indicated that the hysteretic curve of CoSPSWs substantially no pinching,meanwhile,the initial lateral stiffness,energy dissipation capacity,lateral bearing capacity of shear yielding CoSPSWs are higher than SPSWs about 34%,26%,5%.Moreover,in the case of utilizing weaker frame or applying gravity,the adverse impact on CoSPSWs is lower than SPSWs.
