In order to meet the rapid development of the economy needs, the construction of power grid is developing rapidly represents with UHV(Ultra High Voltage), it brings a lot of design work for transmission lines. With the development of UHV, multi-circuit lines on the same tower, compact transmission line and other power transmission mode, the design of transmission lines become more complex. Cognition of their electrical parameters need to be further deepened. At the same time, People pay more attention to their health while they elevate the living standards and increase their awareness of security in recent years. Therefore, it plays an important role to accurate calculate and optimize the electrical parameters and electromagnetic when we construct a transmission line.In this paper, we studied the theories which are widely used in electrical parameters calculation, the influence factors of electrical parameters and suppression methods:1) In sequence impedance calculation. we compared the accuracy and frequency characteristics of Carson formula and complex depth formula. Calculate results are compared with the ATP results and measured results . It shows that complex depth formula can not only meet the accuracy requirement, but also is easier to program , which is more suitable for the software development.2) Summarize a method of calculating transmission line imbalance. Analysis various factors which impact imbalance and at last put forward measures to improve the imbalance.3) Derived calculation method for induced voltage and current. Analysis the main factors which impact the results . It contributes to the selection of grounding switch and maintenance mode.On this basis, we select Algorithm which are better and easier to achieve. Apply VC + + 6.0 senior programming language to develop a software based on the theory above ,and preliminary design of software interface is done.
