At present, the urban rail transit projects are being constructed in an unprecedented speed both at home and aboard, DC power supply system is the best choice for urban rail transport system with its large transmission power, long transmission distance and little pollution, etc. However, people also faced the stray current corrosion to the urban rail system itself and the surrounding structures brought by DC power supply system.The paper researched the mechanism of stray current corrosion to the buried metal pipes and pointed out the main hazards of the stray current corrosion. Using the electromagnetic field theory, the paper analysed the electronic potential distribution in the return current electric field, and found that stray current can not be avoided due to difference potential of the metal pipeline in the electric field. Through the finite element software ANSYS, the electric field model is established and simulated. The mathematical models (linear) of the metro stray current distribution in different modes are established based on theoretical analysis. Through the numerical analysis software MATLAB, models are simulated and the factors affecting the metro stray current corrosion are obtained. In the end, the paper suggested the protective measures dealing with relative factors.
