Leakage of water distribution systems is a serious problem in water industries.Leakage not only wastes precious water resources, but also leads to much financial loss.Leakage of water distribution systems has become an important issue of concern to study in the world.Based on the leakage data collecting from internal and oversea and the investigation from water industries, according to analyzing the reasons for the pipe network leakage, measures for controlling leakage were proposed,and also the technical measures for reducing leakage frequency and leakage quantity were presented from the view of design, construction and management.The Analytic Hierarchy Process is used for analysis of influence factors of leakage of water distribution systems ,educing relatively weightiness of these factors, bringing forward a new method for the more study of the leakage of water industries. Particle Swarm Optimization is introduce into the optimization of BP network, successfully overcoming the defect of sensitivity of BP arithmetic for initialization weight and easily running into local infinitesimal, greatly advancing model,s convergence speed and precision.The model of PSO-BP is used for forecasting the security time of water supply pipe. The forecast provides basis of economic analysis concerning leakage control and pipe maintenance, supplies the function of warning in advance in the management of leakage of water distribution systems, promotes the combine the rectify and extend of water distribution systems with the preventing and controlling of leakage.
